Italian leather is recognized in the world as a seal of quality, and this is totally true. Italian tanneries are world famous and recognized for their tradition and for being suppliers of luxury brands that were born in Europe, mainly in Italy, France and England.

But there is something that few say, and has to do with the real origin of these skins.

Argentina is known worldwide for the quality of its meats and has the best land in the world for raising cattle, with millions of kilometers devoted to this activity in the humid pampas and with a per capita consumption so high that local tanneries take advantage of it to provide leather to the local market (20%) and also export it (80%). The leather industry in Argentina is very old and has a long tradition.

The truth is that what many know as Italian leather, in reality it is largely Argentine leather that is exported to Italy and then the local tanneries carry out the final tanning processes.

Argentina exports leather not only to Italy, but also to China and the United States as well as to the rest of the world, being one of the largest high quality leather exporters of the world.
